NordicDendro News Contacts Resources

NordicDENDRO network is envisioned to cover demand for education and better networking within different areas of dendrochronology in Nordic countries.

The use of tree-rings is strongly increasing in many fields of science, especially in ecology. Disturbance history, climate reconstructions, analyses of forest biomass dynamics and of human impact on ecosystems are all areas where methods of tree ring research can add new and unique information.

The network will provide an important momentum for developing these subject areas in the Nordic countries. Within the network we will put the main focus on cooperation among the partners within the frame of Fennoscandian dendrochronological fieldweeks, a PhD and Master level courses which have been given at different locations in Scandinavia since 2001.
